Picked up the most recent edition of "Combat Handguns" and it had a good article on the P2000 SK in .40 S&W. I was looking at this gun before I bought my Kimber Custom and I'm thinking that its gonna have to be my next purchase, after I get around to getting my CCW. Anybody have one or had any experience with one?

I have experience with it in 9mm.  It's a nice little gun.  I prefer the P2000 over the P2000SK though because I feel like I get a better grip on the P2000 and the SK doesn't conceal considerably better.

If I was looking for a sub compact I'd take the SK over most others.

Just Bought a SK in 9mm. Like OR stated the big issue about this pistol is the grip. The floor plate lip is not straight down but protrudes forward, giving the pistol a nice look but causing you to leave your pinky in limbo or if ya have small hands like me laying it on the protuding edge.

I went to the HKPRO site and there are rumors that hk is going to produce mags with a flush or straight down lip to provide users with a better grip. I feel comfortable with my grip but i wouldnt mind getting my hands on one of the new mags, nonetheless I love this gun. The trigger is sweet, accuracy is excellent and the pistol looks great.

Just like you I also own a kimber custom in stainless. She is however a safe queen which I use occasionaly at the range. The only issue I see is that your kimber and hk are totally different beasts. So if you use and like your kimber alot, you might want to consider getting something with similar controls and feel such as a para carry. I use double action pistols with no safety exclusively for off duty carry because that is what im required to carry on duty. That way there is just one train of thought and training. When you get the chance head to your local gun shop and try out that grip, you just might fall in love with it.
