| Ok I got my USP Tactical .45 about a month ago, unfortunatly, I have only been able to shoot it twice. Today was the 2nd time. I used winchester 230gr value pack rounds. I was shooting at a black peice of construction paper at 25 yards because I have read that shooting at a solid target is good for sighting in your pistol because your eye will automatically center on the middle of the paper and it will not be bias as far as what hold ( six oclock or dead center hold ) However, I was shooting way low and way left. So what I did was adjust my sights and it didn't seem to correct the problem. I was all over the backing of the target, I was hitting the black probley every 10 rounds i would hit it once, this is not what the USP is advertised. I dont want to hate the gun, and I know it is me. I also tried a really loose hold to make sure that I am not trying to pull the gun down to compensate for the recoil. I was also pulling with the tip of my trigger finger, trying not to slap the trigger and jerk it off the target. Any suggestions would be helpful, I dont want to hate this gun, because I really do love it, but right now its not "blowing my skirt up" |

I can't be sure exactly what your problem is, but the same thing used to happen to me when I shot anything bigger than a .22. I was always shooting low and to the left. My problem was that I was anticipating recoil too much. After a lot of dry firing and range time I think I have the problem beat now, but for a while i didn't think anything could fix me. A simple way to check if this may be your problem is to have someone else load a few magazines for you and mix in a snap cap or two. If you pull the trigger on the snap cap and your wrist still goes crazy, you're anticipating recoil. It really opened my eyes the first time I did this, and helped me figure out what to work on. Good Luck! |
