I have been looking for another 9MM pistol and really like the P30. I have been going back and forth for some time on this pistol and every time I think I am sold...I never pull the trigger. (pun intended). The pistol that I buy needs to be a suppressor host as well, which is why I held off initially. I keep having a hard time justifying the purchase of a $900 pistol and then buying a $400 barrel to use a suppressor.

With that said...every time I put one in my hand, it just feels "right". I am a big fan of the controls on this pistol.

Anyway, the trigger groups confuse me. Am I correct in that I can purchase a V3 with standard safety, DA/SA and convert it to LEM, but I can't buy an LEM and convert it to V3 DA/SA? If so, why is that? I like striker fired pistols, so I am assuming that I would prefer the LEM trigger, but I would hate to buy one and have to sell it because I do not like the trigger.

Also, can you have a safety/decocker with the LEM setup? I like the traditional safety.

Thanks!

You are correct you can get a V3 and goto a LEM but not the other way around. I believe the slides are differant.

Not sure on the deco lee but I also don't think you can have one because of the way the trigger group works.

Get one you wot be disappointed.

Also keep an eye out for after market barrels.

You can get the LEM version with a safety. It doesn't decock the hammer from its partially cocked position. Although you finish cocking the hammer upon pulling the trigger, a LEM HK trigger feels nothing like a striker fired gun though.

Could you please elaborate on this? Most of what I have read indicates if you like a striker fired pistol, you would prefer the HK LEM trigger over the standard DA/SA triggers.

It's hard to describe as there is really no other trigger like similar to it.

It doesn't have that spongy feel that every Glock, XD, and M&P I've fired does. It has a long initial take-up that is very light and smooth, only a couple of pounds, then a shorter, stiffer pull to the break. Though the reset on an LEM isn't what I'd call short, certainly not like on my 3rd Gen. S&W's, it's not too long and it's not necessary to release the trigger all the way like you would on a true DA.

You really should try to find a rental in your AO, or a store with one in stock that you can finger. If you give you AO here or over on the HK forum, perhaps you can find someone nearby that has one.

ETA:I guess some describe it like a striker gun in that the trigger pull is the same every time. That's a similarity the LEM has, but again, at least IMO, it feels nothing like the above mentioned pistols.
