It's double the price or more, for about 5% more gun if that. The Tactical will already probably shoot better than 95% of the people out there that own one can shoot it. My USP Tactical with Heinie night sights:

I keep it handy... for close encounters.
If that was aimed at me, I found my Mark 23 for $1200 at a gunshow and couldn't pass it up at that price. NIB Tacticals were $1050 at the same show. I wouldn't pay $1800-$2500 for it, though. |

Most people would never see the differences between a USP tac and a MK23. That being said, if you've ever taken both of them apart side by side...you can clearly see its quite a bit more than just 5% more gun... Also, with THAT being said...90% (probably more, just throwing out a random #) of all situations that a MK23 could handle, a USP would do just as well in. Would I trade my MK23 in for a USP tactical? Hell no. Not even for two of them. I am getting a USP tactical VERY soon, and plan on putting it through its paces...and in terms of what I shoot...will never notice a real difference in accuracy or reliability...so my MK23 will be my safe queen/looker, and my tac will be my workhorse. |
