| I know where to get Mecgar hicap mags for USP for $24.99. Does anyone here have any experience with them? |

From their own web-site: Mec-Gar is proud to be an Original Equipment Manufacturer of magazines to the most of the prominent firearm manufacturers. The following are a few of the firearm manufacuturers to whom Mec-Gar has supplied magazines to throughout our history: AMT Armscor Astra Beretta Bernadelli FN Browning BUL Charles Daly Colt CZ IMI Kel-Tec Kimber Llama North American Arms Remington Sigarms Smith & Wesson Springfield Armory STI Standard Arms Star Steyr Tanfoglio Taurus Walther IMO they make fine pistols mags, I own several 1911 mags made by them and have never had a problem w/ them (no H&K ones tho). they should be stamped pro-mag. if it isn't stamped HK i'm not buying it. i have had a few mecgar mags for a sig in the past but i've never seen them for a HK. the ones for the 220 worked great though. |
The easiest way to tell the difference is the back of the magazine. Pro-mags only have a couple (my 10rders have 2) holes to see how much ammo is in the mag. The H&K factory mags have numerous holes in the back that are labeled so you know exactly how much ammo is loaded in the mag. The pro-mags also have 2 circular holes in the front of the mag that factory H&K mags do not have. |

I've had all kinds of problems with my USP45 10rd Pro-mags. Defintely not reliable enough for self defense. They are ok range mags...and I've gotten lots of practice clearing malfunctions with them. The worst part was the pro-mag springs. I replaced the pro-mag springs with some extra wolff springs I have and they are reliable enough that I'm competing in IDPA with them till I finally get my fullcap factory mags. The pro-mags seem to do ok in IDPA because they are only loaded to 8. |
I just e-mailed Mec-Gar suggesting they start making HK USP mags. If all of you and every other HK owner would too, I'm sure we'd be in business[email protected] |
