I've always wanted a H&K USP. I was pretty set on getting the .45, but ended up with the .40. I've only put a magazine through it, but I can tell you I'm already in love with it! It came with the trijicon night sites, and a hogue grip. So tell me what you guys think, and any tips I should know? Thanks!

my 1st as well some years back and I LOVE it! Congrats on the new toy, but be careful they are like gremlins. Feed them after midnight and they multiply

Ha yeah they're definitely addictive. Almost as bad as my AR. I need to get a picture of them all together. I like your gun btw. I wanted an all black one, but this one was on sale and came with the little extras. Sure is a fun lil booger to shoot.

Ditch the Hogue as it gets slippery, on the gun and not your hand, when it gets warm.

Get a 40 tactical barrel for future suppressor duty from Midway USA or HKparts.net.

And yes it is just a barrel swap.

Been a little while since I ventured over here. But nice USP! Been thinking of a USP 40 for a little while, and there's just something about that two tone

Nice indeed. I just got my first HK last week, a USP.45 and have the same impressions.

Your first handgun was an H&K??

Stupid, stupid move.  That's like starting wine tasting with a $500 bottle or your first girlfriend being Giselle Bundchen.  You'll forever be spoiled and will find it difficult to "slum" down to  other pistols!

Welcome aboard!  Great choice!!

Thanks again guys! I've only shot about 50rds through it. Work is killer right now. But plan to soon change that. I need a good holster now. Any suggestion?

And yes I know the hk is a little much for my first gun. I just had the spare money and wanted a quality piece. Never liked the "feel" of all the glocks I've shot. And wanted something not so common. Oh and playing rainbow six as a kid didn't help matters

I bought my first HK USP in 1996 and it's still my goto gun.  I have 1000's of rounds through it and never one problem.

Be advised, they are addictive. I picked up a USP40f first and low and behold, last week and about two years after the fact I came across a really clean USP40c in stainless. HKs have a way of sneaking into your gun safe like it, or not. I personally like it.

My first pistol was a USPc .40 as well.  Just got it back in December.  I'll have to agree that, after firing many weapons,  I believe I may have screwed myself as far as impressions of other sidearms

(and I'm assuming rifles and subguns, as well).  Just clicked off 500 rounds of Winchester Ranger FMJ 180's the other day and finally had my first misfire.  Stovepiped while rapid firing

(with a bad grip, I might add).  Probably not the weapons fault.  It's a great CCW, as well.  If I'm going to rely on something to potentially save my life, I want it to work every singe time, without question.

 HK all the way.

I use a Raven Concealment rig for daily carry.  They're pricey and you have to wait a few months to get them, but well worth it, as they're indestructible, fast, and comfortable.  I've also heard good things about Crossbreed Holsters.

Nice stainless slide USP... wish I would have never gotten rid of my compact stainless slide USP .40. I will find another to replace it sometime in the near future.
