Can someone tell me which HK pistols can be converted from DA/SA to LEM?
Thanks. |
| Yes, I believe the p30S can be converted to LEM with a safety, but you could probably also remove the safety if you wanted to. I am not 100% sure on this, but there is a factory P30S LEM (P30 v1) it has the 3lb LEM trigger with a safety because the trigger is so light I believe. |

Can someone point me at the right place to buy the LEM conversion parts for the P30? I'm looking to convert my DA/SA to the light LEM. Any help is much appreciated! http://www.robertrtg.com/hkp30lem.html thats the link for the LEM kit for the p30. you will have to retain the decocker button i believe but it will basically just be there because you can't remove it to my knowledge. it will serve no purpose. I have no idea where to get the trigger return springs. maybe numrich gun parts has them, but this thread has the part numbers: http://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-handgun-talk/133405-anyone-running-p30-lem-all-three-light-springs-hs-trs-fpbs.html hope this helps |

So the P2000 and P2000SK can both be converted to LEM?? I was thinking they couldn't be converted, but that would be awesome if they did so I wouldn't have to try to go through the hassle of trading them. Yes they can. Don't worry! You don't have to trade them |

I converted my USP Tactical to LEM myself. It was somewhat difficult because there were not any instructions (HK wants you to send them the pistol for any mods.) After you do it once its a no-brainer.
I removed the saftey but I'm still not sure I'm gonna keep it that way. I've always used a manual saftey and I feel VERY uncomfortable without it. It's purely a training issue but I have not decided which way I'm gonna roll. On the USP series, you have options as to which of those little control plates you choose to install (V1, V2, ect). I am considering keeping the LEM trigger and reinstalling the manual saftey. |
| Any USP or HK45 can be converted to LEM and back to any other variant. The P-Series pistols CAN be converted from V3 to LEM but HK doesn't support the conversion. You can not convert from LEM to DA/SA with the P-Series because you will not have a decocker or a safety and will essentially have a SAO pistol with no safety. |

The only pistols HK sanctions the conversion from SA/DA to LEM is the USP, USPC, HK45, and HK45C. Some have converted the P2K/SK and P30 to LEM from SA/DA but HK says this is an unsafe conversion and they will not do it and they will not warrant a pistol if it has so been converted. Still, people do things all the time not sanctioned by the gun makers (lots of people fancy themselves smarter than the HK engineers) but if their pistol is ever involved in an AD their ass will be in a sling and HK sure will not stand behind their backyard cobbled conversions.
Don't take my word for it, call HK and see what they tell you. This same information was on the HK forums before they shut them down. But if you feel you want to proceed, don't blame HK if you run into trouble down the road, they have said don't do it and that is good enough for me. IMO play it safe, sell your pistol and buy the one you want. That way you have a pistol that is backed by their warranty and so will the person you sell your unaltered pistol to. You may lose a few bucks but you'll lose a lot more if your gun has an AD, someone is hurt, and you are sued. HK says it is an unsafe conversion and that right there is enough to hang you. |
| My HK USP40 was a LEM when I bought it. After about 6 months of shooting it as a LEM I converted mine to a match trigger just like my USP 45 Tactical and USP9mm. I prefer the DA/SA match trigger over the LEM. Now when I practice I can move between my 3 calibers and have the same trigger group that I like from gun to gun. Practice with my 9mm, carry my 40 and enjoy my .45 Tactical at the range. It's all good. The LEM was OK, but I just never quite took a liking to it. |
