Just saw a similar thread in the Beretta category, so I thought I would post one of my stories here.

Went out to do some fence work one day.  I usually take my 30/30 for any coyotes that are unfortunate enough to cross my path.  I did not have the rifle with me this day, just my standard P2000 that I always carry off duty.  Saw a coyote at what I later measured to be 85 yrds.  I decided to try the shot for the heck of it.  One shot from my P2000 hit the coyote through the shoulder blade and into the heart.  Coyote tumbled down the hill and was dead by the time it reached the bottom.  I will concede that it may have been luck, although I am one of the top shooters on my department.  Either way, I was impressed w/ the shot.

Very nice.  I couldn't have made that shot without some serious luck.

Nice shooting.  What round were you using?

And yes, pics would be nice.

Sorry, no pics.  I take a firearm w/ me when I am working on fence, but not a camera.  I guess I could have used my phone.

I was using 147 gr. Winchester T-series ammunition.

There, I fixed it.  Just kidding, good shooting!

Nice shot. It takes skill to do that , but the small HK have the quality to shoot long range. I dont know about the .45 , but the 357 sig and 9mm shoot well at 100 yds. You would think that with such a small barrel it could not happen, but they can . The Elite models shoot like a rifle with the correct ammo and are even more pin point accurate . Shooting long range with an Elite 9mm is amazing. The only thing I like better is the X-5 models Sigs, but they are expensive. Because of the small HK pistols ability to shoot this well is why I carry one. Its a comfort to know that what you pocket carry can protect you at different distances with the correct ammo.
