I had this happen to me twice today at the range.  The mag is empty but the slide goes into battery.

I have less then 1k rounds through this gun, any ideas?

Finger riding on the slide release while shooting.....

Does the slide lock open when you manually rack it on an empty magazine. If not the magazine is weak and needs replacement, unlikely under 1000 rounds........

Slide locks back when doing it manually.

Likely I am hitting the slide release. I will try it again tomorrow.

Thanks guys.

Good luck. I bet that's what it is, happens a lot. My sk has no issues locking back.

Let us know how it plays out for you.  The SK is small but has a large slide release that's easy to "engage" unintentionally while shooting.

I have a new P2000 SK and accidentally hit the release on my first two range trips with her.

If it persists, shoot it one handed and I bet it will go away.  I agree with the others, you are riding the slide release.

I finally got another chance to shoot it and it looks like my thumb was hitting the slide release.  Easy fix thanks for the help guys.
