What can the Colt experts here tell me about this gun?

Just wondering what it is, not sure of the model.

ETA: It says "Junior Colt cal. .22 short" on the slide.

Type that into your google search, it lists lots of info and links to numerous forum threads about it. Looks like Astra made them for Colt. I read some of them, Interesting reading.

Yeah, I shoulda thought of that.

made for colt by astra in spain- I have shot several good solid reliable guns. tough to find parts and magazines however. it's original niche was as apocket hideout gun- much better choices in this day and age but in the early 1970's was considered a good choice in the pocket gun role

I shoulda thought of that, too!

It belongs to a friend, was given to him. I'll try to get ahold of it and bring it by one o' these days.
