Yes, there is a great deal of collector interest in the Boa's - especially a nice set like that. I cannot give you an estimate as to their value. But if you wanted to sell them I sure would be interested but have no idea what they are worth.
From what I understand, the Boa was a special run for Lew Horton. It is not a Python but considered the poor man's python. 600 of each size made plus a hundred sets. |

The Colt Boa has a VERY high collector interest, and a very high price.
Its one of the key Colt "Snake" models that a collector trying to build a complete "Snake" collection has to have, and one of the rarest. The guns were originally made as a special order for Lew Horton Distributing in 1985. There were 600 each in 4" and 6" individual guns, and only 100 cased sets. The guns were essentially the Colt Trooper Mark V with a Python type barrel. Issue price for the cased set was $1200 in 1985. Value would be at least $2000, and these days almost certainly much higher due to the skyrocketing price of Colt revolvers. You can probably get a fairly close estimate by posting this question on the Colt forum. Several collectors there have priced these within the last year: http://www.coltforum.com/forums/ |

Here is a set that recently sold for $8000. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=139650430
Individually they easily sell in the $3000 + price range each. If I had a set I don't think I could part with them unless I was in DIRE need of $$$$! They will only become more valuable with time. Here's my Boa |
