What would be a good base price for one of these?
Are there any glaring problems with these that I should be aware of? |

Look up the difference between Series 80 and Series 70 safety.
80 messes with the trigger a little. Some people don't mind, some people go ape-stuff over it. Sorry I can't help you with the base price, I'm just telling what I know about a possible problem I've found in my own research. |

Specific model and condition determine the value/price––no surprise there. Nothing special to look out for other than be aware that they have the firing pin safety as noted. Also, some of the early )1983 to the later 1980s) had the infamous collet barrel bushing which was a carry-over from the 70 Series. This feature can be an issue as there have been examples of the thing breaking during use, and creating the mother of all jams requiring some serious remidial action.
Series 80s can be found from $400 or less to $1000 or more depending on model and condition. They really don't have any collector value. They're just good solid shooters with the pony logo on the slide. |
