It had been there so long there were carpet fibers embeded into the slide. Needless to say, there was hardly any finish, and the right side of the slide was pitted. I cleaned it up and had it coated a matte black. It is a wonderful shooter, glad I could salvage it. |

Bought it off a co-worker who was hard up for money, he said they were the original grips. The Colt was his father's and when his father was killed in the line of duty in 1981, the Colt became his. I'll probably put on different grips and keep these in the safe so that they'll stay looking good. |

| Many thanks for the comments, yes I did the build. I offer a complete line of pistols from my shop. There is a line of Damascus guns that are above and beyond this one. I just built this while waiting on more supplies. The damascus is no where near soft. It is some pretty hard stuff and you have to be careful as they are quite expensive if you mess them up. Above mentioned comment regarding sweeden, yes it comes from there and yes it takes a long time to get. TRUST me on this, IT IS worth the wait. T |
