| I just bought a Colt 22 single action revolver 4 1/2 inch barrel. It has a 4 digit serial number with a "Q" suffix. It has the raw looking alloy frame and blue barrel and cylinder, I think they called this duo-tone. How rare is this. Accordinf to what Ive found online it should be a 1957, the first year of production. Condition is very nice, not mint but nice. Thanks |

The Duotone finish is said to be "rare", but HOW rare only Colt knows. They don't release production data, so it's hard to say how many of what models were made. The "Q" models started at serial number 10000 in 1957, and ended at somewhere around 16520 in 1958. The "Q" model was produced from 1957 to 1958, so they are somewhat rare. |

Since someone else brought it up... Nickel w/ red lined wood case, 172xxZK s/n, somehow got the idea it was made in '63 but don't remember how I came to that conclusion. Any info about it would be much appreciated. It was my wedding present set aside by my grandfather before he died. Thanks. Don't want to clutter someones thread with my pics, but - http://lh3.ggpht.com/wyzardd/RoLfNheyfbI/AAAAAAAAAgE/GPH3OxJRQqA/s320/Scout2.jpg http://lh4.ggpht.com/wyzardd/RoLfNxeyfcI/AAAAAAAAAgM/Cja_KBWsUsI/s320/Scout1.jpg http://lh5.ggpht.com/wyzardd/RoLfOBeyfdI/AAAAAAAAAgU/7hb50K-y4uA/s320/Scout4.jpg |
