What is the avg price for a Mark IV? I have a chance to get one that I saw in 45 for about $599, and I don't know much about Colt's, but I want (at least) a second 1911. I was going to get another SA for around that same price, but saw the Colt there waving to me. I thought it was less than other Colt's in the rack, (but I didn't ask to see the others) but this one was in excellent shape. Sorry for the Colt-noob question, just don't want to see it get away if it is a good deal, or get it if it is a bad deal...
Thanks!!

in Texas, Dallas anyways...the Average,,as in average for a 30yr old gun,  series 70 can be had for about 600.00 dependant on condition, with box or with out. modifications etc
and go up from there..
yesterday I saw a Bad series 70, little finish left..probably fubared on the inside..for 499..

dealers offer 250 to 300 on em for trade or purchace

Jeez, I am not sure... I will have to check back and visit it this week. I suppose one is better/more desireable? If you can direct me to a source to learn from, that'd be great so as not to waste your time, thanks!!!! I do know that it was in nice shape, and looked really nice!

After looking all over the net, gb and all, I took another look at it tonight... I think I did ok (at least locally here in NY...) maybe 95% for condition was a low estimate... perhaps more like a 98% finish, couldn't resist it. The only flaw was only two tiny (less than 3/16" and light) scratches on the slide, and beautiful other than that, and nice trigger and an excellent barrel... hope I have enough money to pay it off soon, I put it on layaway.
