I should be receiving the revolver next week. It is from the 1960's-early70's I believe. I am not looking to baby it, but I want to avoid problems as I hear they are somewhat complex to work on. I was hoping that someone can answer some questions I have.

-I do not plan on shooting +P's, but do I need to worry about other 38spcl. loads?

-Will it hurt to dry fire the revolver?

-Is the revolver drop safe once cocked?

-Will Colt work on these?

-If I want a carry revolver, should I put this piece in the safe and go buy an airweight?
Thanks in advance.

Just stay away from +P rounds.  All normal pressure rounds are okay

-Will it hurt to dry fire the revolver?
No.  I dry fire mine all the time

-Is the revolver drop safe once cocked?
Yes, you must have the trigger pulled all the way back for the firing pin to contact the primer

-Will Colt work on these?
May be (I'm not sure)

Air weight is nice for pocket carry but for holster carry on the waist Detective Special are okay.

Here is a pic of my Detective Special (1973), Cobra with nickel finish (1973) and Agent (1966).

Nice! I like the grips. Now I can't wait for mine to get here.

If you want one of those grips let me know.
I have an extra one that I took off my Cobra available for sale.
