Hi everyone, tomorrow I have the chance to scope a Colt Boa for sale. I have obviously done the google browsing on them and am reading its value at 2k and up.
Im pretty sure it doesn't come with original box. As long as it checks out, what should I expect to pay? and would you recommend a quick flip? or sit on the investment.

thank you in advance!

I have seen them sell for over $10,000 new in the box on Gunbroker and other auction sites. No joke. The Boa is one of the modern holy grails of Colt collecting. I would expect an excellent condition example with no box to fetch at least $5,000 on Gunbroker.

If you get it for a good price, I would flip it quickly. I think the Colt Snake gun market is due for a bubble bust IMO.

Coming from someone who is a revolver amateur but does own a python, i will respectfully disagree with your feeling that the snake gun market is due for a crash.
Respectfully, in my opinion, the colt snake gun market will NEVER crash. It will only go up, for ever. Even if Colt ( who really isn't even Colt anymore ) begins making the snake gun line again, and *if* Colt makes the new snake guns to the *exact* quality as the old snake guns, the craftsmanship would make new snake guns as expensive or more as the old ones. Alternately, if colt decides to ramp up production of the snake guns and makes them with similar craftsmanship as current s&w 686's, or ruger gp's, (good, ok, decent runners) then Colt will only be making them to sell under the snake gun name for profit alone. That will do nothing to the value of the old snake guns.

So in my opinion, the value of old snake guns will *never* go down and only up.

I bought my 4" satin E Nickel 1981 Python with wood grips for $1,200 i think back about 5-6 years ago.
My only and BIGGEST regret was not buying the other 1981 6" Royal Blue Python next to it at the same time.

That is my *The gun that got away from me* story gun. Stupidest mistake i ever made.
