Will the colt government 1911 8-shot  magazine fit a colt commander 1911?
Are the commander's very accurate?Prices are everywhere now...whats a fair price on a new or nearly new commander?
Are the triggers good or need replaced?
Is the commander the best for a " accurate" conceal carry?

The only difference between a Commander and a Govt. Model is that the Commander has a shorter barrel by 3/4", so the 8 shot magazines will fit. I have had several Commanders over the years and found that they were very accurate. The triggers are OK as they come, but I liked the feel of a longer trigger, so I usually install those in all of my 1911's.

Commanders will run you anywhere between $600-800+, maybe more in today's market. My current "Commander" sized 1911 is a Kimber Pro TLE/RL which had a 4" barrel. It is a tack driver. My other two 1911's are full sized Govt. Models (One Kimber and a Springfield Armory), they are just as easy to conceal as a Commander because the grips are the same size and that is the part that is of concern when you want to conceal it....

I have a Colt Commander. I have found it to be accurate and reliable. For IWB carry I prefer the Commander over my Colt Government model. Although the difference in barrel length is only 3/4 of an inch the Commander barrel does not pinch my butt when I"m seated. I find the Gov. model does pinch when carried IWB.

Not for a Colt. Colt Commanders are 900 to 1000 and that was before the craziness.

What's nice about the Colts is they don't use full length guide rods like Kimber, Springfield, and others so you can break them down without a tool if you had too.
