| So I got my Colt XSE Combat Eliete in March of this year and haven't really had the time to shoot it like I would want to. Well I took it out last weekend and noticed that the rear sight was missing one of the dots. What is this dot? Is it paint? Is it an insert? So for my three dot sight I have the left rear one and the front one. The right rear is gone. I am trying to figure out what I want to do about it. |
| They are paint. If you call Colt they will tell you cosmetic repairs are under warranty for 1 year after manufacture. The 1st thing they will tell you is you can repaint it with model paint and a tooth pick. Your other option is to send it off to Colt and wait for 5 to 6 months for someone there to do the same. |

I lost one off the new railgun. POS cheap Novak sights. I'm replacing them I think with Meprolight sights. Novaks, Cheap ? Been using them for years. If putting a dab of paint is too much for ya, maybe so is a 1911. If you had this Colt with all it's problems you'd bite your tongue. The sights are trivial yes, but it adds to the disgust. When you read the about everyone and the brother having one that is great, you wonder if they are first class liars or if your ass will ever heal. I won't let it best me, but I know when I'm over my head to correct this lemon. Colt hasn't done shit for me. They make it worse each and ever time it does back. They have screwed it up so bad I'm planning to pay Nighthawk a lot of money to make it the best it can be. Judging from what I see first hand from Nighthawk, I'll be happy. And no it will not have Novak sights. Just too much anger built up around the whole deal to even accept them as a valid option. |
