I have a problem it seems w/ my P22.  When I shoot it, holding it as I hold all of my other handguns, upon firing a round, my magazine drops out.  I have shot it without anything part of my hand holding the magazine and it works fine, but as soon as I place my grip, which is not loose but not tight, the pressure from my pinky I guess is pressing the magazine slightly back causing it to drop loose as soon as the slide cylces and strips the next round.  The round always gets chambered, but the mag will fall out the bottom as soon as I release my grip.  I even had my wife shoot this gun to make sure it wasn't me, she had the same problem.  Anyone know how this can be fixed?  I'd like to find a fix for this, as it is VERY annoying to have to re-insert the magazine after each time.

Thanks,
Nick

My wife had the same/similar problem . I determined that she was placing her finger very low on the trigger and wouold push down on the magazine release as she pulled the trigger.  That combined with the use of the magazines with the finger rest  caused the problem.

Not sure if this will help you any  but I thought I would throw in my observation.

When shooting, I've purposely placed my trigger finger high as to make sure I am not hitting the mag release.  I am sure I am not hitting the release.  At first, I thought it was a posibility, but after repeated attempts, I made sure I wasn't.

Thanks for the reply though.  I'd like to figure out what is causing this.  It is a fun gun to shoot, but not when it doesn't work properly.

Weird.

My mag locks so securely that I've pinched my skin on my palm, and it didn't let go. I had to push down hard on the mag release to drop the mag, & get my hand back. It hurt like an SOB...left a nasty blood blister.

Guess I'll just have to send it in to Walther to get it fixed.  I don't know how to fix it and I can't shoot it and have any fun in the state it is in now.
