I have had this gun for 10 years. I have seen PT 92 AF alot at shows but not many AFS. Any info on these? |

It's a stainless, correct? I'm pretty sure that's what the "S" stands for. Taurus has been changing their suffixes around lately. They've dropped the "AF" and now have suffixes like "B" for blue, "BNS" for Blue, night-sights, etc. The "AF" was born when there were other type 92's around. They moved the mag release and a few other things and called it the "AF" when Beretta started calling the 92SB-F the 92F. They kept the "AF" designation for a long time, but now they only offer one type of 92 mechanically. The suffix now just denotes the options like finnish, material, or configuration and not a mechanical difference from previous models like before. You can find out when your Taurus was made by visiting the Taurus website. They have a nifty serial number function that you can type in your S/N and it will tell you when it was made. No other info, but it's nice to know. Taurus/USA website Ross |
I should know what the "S" suffix stands for in 92AFS...time for some research on my part. |
