I just picked up a Pt 111 Pro in 9mm and was wondering the proper technique for carrying. Im carry a glock daily and a smith wheely anytime im without the glock, so im not used to anything with external safeties. Do you guys carry them with the safety on or off? The gun will be in a leather belt slide holster, obviously with the trigger covered. In my thinking the safety can be off and in a holster, making it very similar to a glock in operation. Please let me know if this is acceptable or unsafe in any way. thanks loon |

Depends on the model, I think. If it's one of the 3rd gen ones like mine that only really works single action (no decocker), then I'd carry safety on. IIRC, the 2nd gen ones have a decocker and can work as double action on the first round. You might be okay without the safety on there. I carry mine safety on, FWIW. |
