| I bought on of the new Taurus CIA 850 models last week and plan to take it out to the range this weekend. Has anyone shot one yet? What were your thoughts? I really like the feel and look of this revolver and the hammerless design is much nicer than my older .38 in my opinion. |
| pipefitter - Well I went out and shot 200 rounds through her today and am happy and disappointed. The gun feels good and is easy to shoot. That much I pretty much knew seeing as I own two other Taurus revolvers (.38 and .357) I was however disppointed with the accuracy and the fixed site positions. The pattern was pretty poor at 25 and 50 yards. 50 is obviously a bit much for such a short barrelled gun but based on my 85 expected the 25 yard shots to hold a much tighter pattern than they did. The sites were also way off. I had to aim low and a significant amount to the left in order to hit anything. Again this is not the case with my 85. Aside from that it was a lot of fun and for short range protection/conceiled carry I am sure I will be more than satisfied with the purchase. |
