Just recieved my pt1911 back from Taurus to have a thumb safety repaired that would not stop the weapon from firing. After about 2 weeks it is back and it is in the same condition as I shipped it to them, safety still does not work.  In my estimation this is a pretty dangerous situation, Gotta love the lifetime warranty, but the question is..............what good is it if they cannot fix even a safety that does not work?  No more for me, this POS is gonna be gona at the first spring garage sale, lifetime warranty and all.....is this something you would want?  A 1911 with no working thumb safety?   I think not, RIA has them beat in quality hands down.

I had a similar problem - Taurus 22 would discharge when you engaged the safety!  Sent with letter, 3 weeks it got sent back to me in exact same condition with a letter stating " Do not use reloaded ammo" OK - its a 22 and you can't reload the ammo!  Sent it back again and sent a scathing letter - came back again in same condition.  Called Taurus's legal department - took a while to get the contact, a primarily Spanish speaking person (had a very hard time speaking to them) who I explained that the situation was dangerous and would result in injury - They claimed I always should keep the gun pointed in a safe direction as per instructions - I said its unsafe and you will hear from a good lawyer and I will report it to the media.  They sent a fed-ex tag immediately and fixed it right within 1 week.

Its a shame, you would think that after several Accidental Discharge lawsuits and complaints, they would be on top of such things.  Anyone I have spoken to at Taurus was rather rude, didn't speak English and didn't seem to know much about firearms  and put you in a defensive situation- makes you wonder about the safety and quality of their products with lousy customer service to boot.

I won't buy another.

Same shit I am currently recieving, they just dont seem to care if they fix it or not, they do not return phone calls, Robert in customer service stated he would look at it personally, then is either not in or on vacation. The receptionist is useless, feeds you the old rhetoric line..bla blah blah, and as we speak my firearm is still not reaired under their lifetime warranty. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY AN TAURUS PRODUCTS<THEY DO NOT GIVE A DAMN AFTER THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY,THEIR WARRANTY WORK IS A JOKE> BUY ANYTHING BUT A TAURUS!
