Have a P220R and its time to get a light for her. Which do you guys use? Price is a concern and a holster (kydex) must be available for it...so what do you think??

I just ordered a Streamlight TRL-1 based off of many positive reviews on the forum here. I believe that you could get a Raven Concealment Phantom holster for your P220 w/ TRL-1. The X300 light by SureFire looks terrific too, just about twice the price.

I have a TLR-1 on my issued P229R and now my P2000. Raven made my holsters. Personally, if your not in LE or this isn't a dedicated bedside gun I would just buy a SF hand held light. Weapon mounted lights turn your gun into a large item on your belt and difficult to conceal. When I'm off duty my TLR comes off and I carry a hand held light and carry my HK in a standard IWB holster.

Point taken Redbone! The reason I want to attach a light is that I would prefer to keep one hand free while responding to bumps in the night. Now that I think about it, I wouldnt really be carrying it much with the light on. So I guess that one of the considerations is what material the light is made of??? If metal, then constant removal may affect the finish of the weapon?

Not sure about SF but the TLR has metal contact points. when I took mine off after about 8 months of use, it did wear down the finish on my 229R rails in a few spots.  I didn't care because it's agency issued and I turned it in.

+1...  I was able to buy 2 TLR-1's for the price of an X300.  It's perfect for a handgun.  I've never had any trouble with mine at all.
