| what belt do you wear with your holster? |
|
The difference is rigidity across the short cross section of the belt. Extra stitching prevents the belt from folding/rolling/collapsing when worn while bearing a load, such as a holstered sidearm.
3 stitch is the most supple whereas the belt with the “sewn in” insert is the most rigid; 5 stitch is a great compromise because it’s rigid yet comfortable. |
| 1 1/2" Galco...Dress and Casual models. Have also used a Milt Sparks belt in the past, but moved to 1 1/2" width and my Milt is a 1 1/4, so now the Milt belt is just a casual belt and not used with carry setup any more. The 1 1/2" belst are much more comfortable. I didn't think the 1/4" would make that much of a difference, but it really does. |

5.11 Instructor +111111111111 on that. What a difference a good belt makes. The nyon web belt locks my pistol down with no flex or sag. I wont own another leather belt again unless I'm wearing a suit.... I guess the wilderness belt would be the same. Both have the metal buckles and rated around 6000lbs for strength. What a belt...... |

those with the wilderness, what size pants do you wear, and what size belt did you order? i wear a 34 pant. i followed the measuring instructions, and it says i should order about a 37 inch belt. does that seem right? thanks I recently ordered a 38 in belt and wear 34" pants. When I followed their instructions, I was between 37 and 38, and when I checked my Galco belts, they were 38, so I went with the 38 inch. Fit is nice, not too big or too small when using IWB. |
| Another vote for the Wilderness Instructor here. I love mine. It's a coyote brown 1.5" poly-lined (that's all the local shop had in a 38"). I wear a 33" pant and all of my belts are 38" for IWB carry. I do have a Sparks belt on (as part of a complete rig: VM2, dual mag pouch and belt) order though for another option. |
