| Looking for some help deciding between the MTAC or CTAC holster for a G27! Thx. |

I have the MTAC form My G-26. I wasn't sure I was going to like it but after about 9 months I love it. It holds my gun in pretty well but not quite as tightly as full kydex. Although it is quiter and easier to pull. I find the leather makes it very easy to carry anywhere from 6 to 3 O'clock. It rides pretty nice in the car also. The adjustable belt clips make it easy to adjust the cant and the depth it rides in your pants.
Can't say anything about the Ctac though. |

I own both and have used both extensively. The MTAC is much more comfortable for me (carrying either my XDSC or my XD Service).
ETA: I do like the retention on the CTAC better. Since its all kydex, there is a bit more grab to it. With the MTAC you have the leather backing. Which means your pistol is basically being held in place by the pressure applied by your belt. Tis the compromise made for comfort. |

I use a CTAC for my XD9SC. I can carry it all day. My belt is a 1.5" bullhide with internal stiffner from the Belt Man. My friend carries his XD45 Service in a MTAC and he likes it very much. The MTAC is more comfortable with the leather backing. I always wear an A shirt so the Kydex shell of the CTAC doesn't bother me at all.
I have no reason to change from my CTAC to an MTAC. YMMV. |

I don't have a CTAC but I suspect that being full kydex the retention is similar to what thier OWB holsters are like. I have several of those and am a fan.
I do have a MTAC for a BHP and am not happy with the retention. It's fairly comfortable and rides well but because of the leather backing there isn't much opposing friction on the inboard side and the divit in the kydex just doesn't do it. If I were to do it again I'd get a CTAC / other all kydex make or an all leather VMII. |
