Well, i finally broke down and bought a Lasermax guide-rod laser for my XD45...very easy to install, took all of 10 minutes. Went to the range and put a box of rounds downrange with it. Fired just fine. The laser pulsates instead of remaining steady, which surprised me. One thing that I did not care for is that when the action cycles, it moves the switch to "off". Anyway, when I got back home I broke it all down for cleaning, and I discovered a little trouble with putting the slide back on. It seems that, if the laser is not positioned just so, it interferes with the action. I also noticed that the screw-on washer that goes over/around the laser lens was loose...like unscrew with fingers loose. So, I called Lasermax, not noticing that it was after 6pm, and the offices were closed. Much to my surprise, Bob picked up the phone and reassured me that the "seating problem" was normal, and posed no issue once the gun is fully assembled. The loose washer, however, is definitely not right, and is supposed to be loc-tite'd on...so now I have to send it in for repair. ![]() So, kudos to Lasermax for Bob in the support department for taking the time to address my issues even though the office was closed, and even gave me his direct extension...but a severe loss of cool points for shipping me a defective product...even if I did get the .mil discount... |
