Which holster brand do you prefer and why. If you have experience with either one and can provide feedback. This will be for a full size 1911. I'm particuarly interested in the OWB belt holsters to compare.

Due to the overwhelming responses, I went with Comp-Tac.

+1

i have tried: 3 bladetechs and 8 comptacs over the last few yrs...

still got: 1 bladetech and 7 comptacs

why? well for several reasons: 1st, the bladetech injected molded sucks, so dont compare it to anything comptac has--its simply cheapo, bulky kydex like uncle mike's
2nd: the techlock, while pretty good, doesnt ride well on the holster--WAY too high imo
3: wait time on bladetech is/was too dang long
4: i'm satisfied (and i'm sure you will be too) w/ comptac's product, functionality, and CS

when i was looking at holsters i decided i would buy comptac if i ever got kydex simply becasuse they dont have ungodly wait times. i dont own any of their product though so cant comment on quality.

Got the Comp-Tac Holster yesterday. I couldn't ask for a better holster. I'm very impressed with the design and quality. It fits my gun and me very well. The gun is held tight to the body. Very nice Holster indeed.
+1 Comp-Tac

You would still be waiting for the Bladetech.

Comp Tac for carry and Blade Tech for matches. I like the tech loc for easy changes between stages, but Blade Tech doesn't make a decent IWB. I have carried the Comp Tac shirt tucker for a couple years and still haven't found anything better. I would like to try the newer offerings from them, they look a little more stable. I don't actually use the shirt tuck function.

Out of the two you have listed Comp Tac wins hands down.

Another great one not listed is Urban Legend Speed Slide by Tucker

I had a CTAC and the about half the time I tried to draw from it the whole thing would come out of my pants.

I wish they would make a better loop design, such as snap loops like the VMII and the Blade-tech IWB. The cheesy clips they use are just worthless.

Should have asked for the C-clip
