| I've decided on the Milt Sparks VMII for my Sig 220. Now, which do I get, the cowhide or horsehide and in what color? I'm thinking black may not be the right choice because it would probably show through a white shirt. I live in VA and it gets sticky in the summertime (I believe about 80% relative humidity today). Perspiration will probably be an issue. Thanks for the advice. MJD |

I got the cowhide. Love it. I think the horsehide is more $$$ but a little more durable. I don't see my cowhide wearing out any sooner though. Mine's black (like my USP) and does not show through a white shirt. If your shirt is allowing the holster color to see through, then your black Sig will be seen also, no matter what the color of your holster. Iowa is bad for the hot temps and humidity also. My VM II works good for me. |
| Horsehide resists sweat better than cowhide. If you are packing it in hot weather and concerned about your pistol's finish I would spring for the extra bucks for horsehide. Color is a personal choice - what color gunbelt do you generally like to wear, brown or black? The belt loops on the holster should match to help hide them. Make sure to match the belt loop size to your gunbelt. |

i had one cow hide holster's belt loops get soft relatively quick. the horse hide holster that i use now has held up better. neither were M. S. products however. +1 on matching size belt and color. and make sure your belt is a good one. 1 1/2" double thickness horse hide for me. |
