| Looking for a good light to mount on my Glock 23. What's good, what's crap? I like Streamlight hand held lights, how are their weapon lights? |
| Thanks for all the input. Looks like I'm going to start with the TRL-1, my buddy had the Inforce light, and I've tried that one. I've got an old ass Insight M3 light which is basically a TRL-1 from looks and activation style. It seemed pretty good when I got it 10 or so years ago, but it's beam is utter shit, and not bright at all. |
| If you haven't bought already, primary arms has the TLR-1s (300 Lumens) for $90. Best price I've seen. |
| I have a tlr1 that works well and just recently bought a surefire xc1. The xc1 is small enough to comfortably carry iwb on my carry gun (p229). I really like the flood light pattern as well. If you plan on carrying with the light attached, you may want to consider the xc1. |

Streamlight TLR-1s.
Great light, not overpowering to blind yourself while indoors but blinding in you were to shine it in someones face. Also has a nice flood to light up the surrounding area. Strobe feature is nice to have. I have one on my G17 night stand gun. Paid about $110 from midwayusa.com. I see them pop up on the EE quite a bit for around $75 if you dont want to spend a lot for a new one. |

I have several small Streamlight handheld lights that I carry daily and depend on. But for a carry gun I think the TLR series is just too bulky. I have an Inforce APL and Surefire XC1 that I run on my carry guns because they make a much smaller package when carried inside the waistband.
I wouldn't hesitate to run a TLR on a nightstand gun though, no worries about concealment there. |

Sign up for their email, they go on sale all the time, think I got mine for 79.99, but $90 is more frequent. Great light for household distances, plenty bright, broad beam, probably 8/9' in diameter at 10' quite a bit of spill. Course it is large and a noticeable weight, I work nights and CC mine on a XD45, I know it's there, but it isn't awful. |
