I am looking for a light, I have no clue which way to look. It is for a Sig P226 and a Glock 17. I plan on getting a holster for the Glock and I have noticed most options are X300 or streamlight. are those the only 2 good options? I do like the plain Jane x300 I dont need a laser or IR. What do you think?
Thank you. |

X-300 and TLR-1 are the two most common. I have owned an X-300 and was very happy with it. For a more compact light, I think the Streamlight TLR-3 is a good option. I don't know if it has the track record of the X-300 and the TLR-1, though.
I am also trying to decide if a laser will serve any purpose on my weapon-light. Streamlight just released the TLR-4 with a green laser. It's tempting. Of course, I have a G19 so I am leaning toward the Streamlight to begin with because Surefire doesn't offer a compact light. eta: screw it, got the TLR-1. Not as sleek as the X-300, but bright and affordable and still well made. |

If you look you will find holsters made for surefire, streamlight, inforce, crimsomtrace and viridian I recommend getting the surefire light. its worth the extra money> I have a streamlight TLR-1 and a Inforce APL and if my pistol would properly mount the ultra I would get it. |

I use a TLR-1 / HK P30S
But if the Surefire ULTRA would fit my pistol well I would use it. I wouldn't want the TLR if I was in LE or military The APL is excellent but doesn't mount well on my HK P30S. Some pistol mount it fine some don't. Other than the mounting system on the APL its a better light than the TLR- I want a compact surefire that's 200lumen or more. Insight makes good weapons lights there are other weapon lights but for get the names |
