Been looking into a light/laser for my M&P 9 and im thinking about the viridian X5L. It looks like everyone is running the streamlight. The viridian is a little bit pricier, is that the only reason why i dont see more of them. I guess what im saying is there are reason to talk me out of the viridian and down sell me to the streamlight. Thanks.

If you really want a laser I would go with the veridian since its green

I would just get a TLR-1 and be done with it, lasers are a novelty unless they are IR used with NV

Even if they're not IR, laser's or red dot optics are pretty important if you're trying to shoot while using night vision.  The night vision optics I've used did not allow the use of iron sights (even with tritium inserts) due to focus issues.  Aimpoints and red lasers both worked great, though Eotechs were too bright and flooded the image, even on the night vision setting.  The Eotechs were about 5 years old, so newer models might work better.  We didn't have any green lasers with us.

Sorry to get off track, OP.  I don't have experience with either model you're looking at.
