I'm going to order a Wilderness Belt (Original Instructor) and was wondering if the 5 stitch is sufficient for a gun belt or if I should get the CSM enforced option?
BTW, they are on sale right now. |

The 5-stitch belts should be sufficient for most, they definitely are for me. I have no experience with the CSM, but I don't see the need.
Another thing to consider is the buckle. Like the CSM option, I consider the buckle on the Instructor belts to be overkill. When unbuckled, it's heavy and very noisy. I've transitioned over to the Frequent Flyer belts, and am very happy with that decision. |

| I had the same questions so I got both. In my opinion is the CSM is overkill unless you are carrying the contents of a full sized duty belt on your regular belt. The five stich is plenty stiff for anything a regular joe is going to carry. The one advantage to the CSM is I don't have to wear it as tight to keep the pistol supported. The stiffener does an excellent job of holding the holster tight to the body even when not worn the way a regular belt would be worn. The thickness of the CSM isn't really an issue. The stiffener is very thin, and it isn't nearly as thick as a leather belt with a the same construction. I wear a 42" belt if that gives you any idea of sizing. I do agree that the buckle is overkill, but I haven't had any digging in issues and I've got a bit of a belly. |
