| Federal HST is definitely very good personal defense ammo. I have fired a couple hundred 9mm and .40S&W without issue. Very accurate and consistent. I also like PMC Starfire allot for the damage it causes, although it's hard to find, and pricey, but so is HST. It's a good thing, it means it is in high demand and the distributors are taking care of L.E. / agencies first, and commercial accounts next, hence our shortage. That's where GB comes in, there's always somebody auctioning off that stuff at a decent price. |

The .45 ACP is virtually impossible to get.
AmmunitionToGo had it for a while earlier this year for something like $39/50. 
SGAmmo had it a week ago but it sold out in one day. TDS has the .40S&W from time to time, but I have never seen .40 ACP there. A couple of LEO-only stores have it listed, but it is always out-of-stock or backordered. |
