So how do you feel about steel case ammo? I have a Stoeger Cougar in 9mm and I'm checking out some Wolf ammo. Is the Steel case hard on the ejector, or is that only if you shoot thousands of rounds. Is it something I should worry about, or can I just get it and I won't have a problem.
EDIT: What about the Aluminum cased Blazer? |

I have shot lots of 9mm wolf thru my glocks and my Oly 9mm AR upper.
Works well in both I guess it is a bit dirty but nothing that doesn't wipe clean right off. I like shooting it at matches (plate shoots and such) because I don't have to scrounge aroung to try and recover my brass |
| I havent shot any in awhile but I remember it being fairly hot. performed much better than most 115gr training loads. accuracy was good from my CZ 75. The glocks feed it no problem but it is not the most accurate load from them. interesting note. in .45 Wolf groups identically to black hills from my USP and hand built 1911. |

The steel used in the Wolf cases (and like ammo) is not the commonly thought of Tool Steel that would cause damage.
The steel used isn't all that much harder than brass used in cases, it doesn't spring the same way brass does, so it does allow more gasses back into the chamber/action area requiring more attention to cleaning and lube. Its fine. Shoot it. Clean and lube well. Good to go. |

My Beretta Cougar hates brown bear and wolf steel cased ammo. Lots of failure to ejects. Then again, it even FTE's on brass cased ammo, just not as often. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile If I may ask- what caliber- I have a Cougar 8045 fullsize. Never has an issue with WWB or Speer Gold Dots at the range. |
