There's a lot of info on here about "Defensive" ammo, but I want to know what you guys would recommend for cheapest Brass-Cased & Boxer primed (so I can save to reload later) PRACTICE ammo (i.e. no defensive uses) that will still give me decent groups?

Thanks in advance for the info guys!

Thanks for the reply dunndw.

There's a guy in the EE selling American Eagle (by Federal) red box 9mm 124 gr FMJ for $225/case shipped.

Has anyone got anything to say about these? (either good or bad?)

Is that Rem. UMC from Natchezss BRASS-cased? All it says is METAL-cased. ???

Also, does anyone know if it is boxer or berdan primed?

Thanks!

Metal Cased (MC) refers to the bullet style, not the casing - it's brass cased and boxer primed.

Went to Wal-mart today. They've got Winchester 115gr FMJ Target/Range 100-round Value Packs for $20. I didn't think that was too bad. Comes out to about $212/1k including tax.

That's what I buy, it shoots great and is cheap.  I actually now use blazer brass for all my guns in 9mm, 40, and 45 prices are $8.95, $12.47, and $14.47

If you have a Dick's Sporting Goods store in your area, they have Remington 9mm ammo for 7.98/50 (when you buy a case) and Remington gives you a $10 gift card also.
