Anyone have any experience with the 185gr+P in .45 ?

The 185grain +P functions just fine in my 1911...  They work just fine, and perform just fine when compared to OTHER bullets based on decade-old jacket & core Materials Science technology.  But my question is WHY go with the HydraShok when you can go with the HydraShok Two (HST bullet)???

I mean, the ORIGINAL HydraShok is an Obsolete bullet...  Unless you need to buy a decent hollow point for one of the 'obscure' calibers like .380 ACP (ETA:  Or if you need to conform with a LE Department's "Issue" cartridge) then I'd say to buy a Federal HydraShok.

What you SHOULD try to purchase is a box of the newer Federal HST!!!

FAR better ballistics Gel performance in all areas, it's the Next Generation of hollowpoint by Federal Ammunition.  It's the culmination of YEARS of research, testing, and design studies done on nearly ALL hollow points on the market!  Winchester, CCI/Speer Gold Dot, as well as hunting rounds, etc...

It has Superior Expansion, Penetration, and nearly 100% perfect weight retention!  This is a result of the new jacket design, bullet manufacturing technology, and the specially designed bonded core.

Who DOESN'T want a next-gen hollow point that has great penetration, and reliable expansion (even when fired through clothing) that is capable of expanding to OVER 100% its original size (some tests show the 45 ACP +P bullet expanded to 1.10" in diameter ), and retains nearly 100% of it's MASS!

I've always been a big fan of the HydraShok, the Gold Dot, & Winchester SXT...  But this new Federal HST 230 grain +P is the S#IT!

I've been carrying the HST (both the +P and standard 45 ACP load) in my 1911 for over 9 months now, and it's performed NICE!

I don't think I'd rely on the Hydroshock 185 . . . I used to use the 230s.

As far as the HST, I thought they were all +P.
