What is the best size ammo can to store factory boxed 45acp ammo in?  I have a little bit of every brand, but they are all 50rd packs.  I just want to start sticking some away for a rainy day and want a good way to store it.  Thanks

50cal cans is what I use for loose rounds.  Boxes of ammo go in SAW ( FAT50 ) cans.  I don't have much in the way of pistol so I can't tell you for sure, but I did have 1K rounds of loose 45 in 50cal can and it still had about an 1-2" from the top of the can.  Heavy bastard though.

The only other thing I will add to his post is I have about 2-3 dessicate packets or silica gel packets in mine.

I prefer grenade type cans for longer term storage, and the small 30 caliber cans for the overflow. That way it shows me where how over, and under supplied I am.
