Can anyone tell me please the main difference between CCI Blazer Aluminum Case Vs CCI Blazer Brass Case? Its getting shot out of a G23, and an XD40. I can get the Aluminum Cased for $1 cheaper per 50 rds. I just want to know if theres a reason i should be usuing brass cased for pistols. I have no problems with the 1000's of Steel cased wolf through my AR, but thats comparing apples and oranges. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

One is in un-reloadable Aluminum cases, and the other is in reloadable Brass. Take your pick.

Some people distain the aluminum, claiming that some guns won't digest it. As a reloader, I ALWAYS pick up my brass; I know how many times it has been loaded/shot.

yup

the aluminum uses the "Berdan" primers, (two ignition holes), which is awful tuff (some say impossible, commercially) to reload.

the brass is "Boxer" primed with one hole and can be easily reloaded (or re-sold) to reloaders.

is it worth the extra .02/rd to police them up after shooting to re-sell OR keep the brass to reload someday yourself OR just plain shoot, have fun, and leave the alum cases where they land?

your call!

ENJOY!

I have shot many of the Blazer 9mm and 40 cal. round in the past when they were much cheaper.
I use them in my Concealed Carry titanium/scandium S&W 38/357 to help cut the weight. It makes a significant difference even with 5 shots when it in your back pocket.

Aluminum cased Blazers are made to be virtually impossible to reload-not only is it Berdan primed, but they use a custom Berdan primer with two tabs that go through the web of the case to hold the primer cup in place-and make the web unstable without them.  The empty aluminum Blazer cases are good for recycling and nothing more.

Brass-cased, Boxer primed anything beats aluminum-cased nonreloadble anything in my book.

i dont reload, and dont intend to, so for plinking either one if fine then to shoot out of my glock and xd40?

on  a side note, would reloaders buy bags of multiple brass casings. bags would be mixed with 40, 45, 9, 38. basically all pistol ammo. i would sell as a ''variety bag'' cause im not seperating.

I love the tin Blazer for practice and training.  I am still using up what I bought in 45acp quite a while back at $6.99 + SH per box.  I had no interest in reloading at the time, so it was perfect for me.  I wish I would have bought like 15 cases last time I bought it.

Yes, both would be fine for plinking.  Yes, reloaders would be interested in mixed bags of brass.  How many bags of what size are we talking about?  (And I'm staking "right of first refusal" here!

Do you mean brass that has never been loaded or fired? Because that is much more valuable than once-fired, unprocessed brass.

i apologize i worded it wrong. it would be for instantce, 100 rds of wwb 40 cal ammo fired, the brass would be collected. so i guess that is ''once fired'' brass. so yes i would be able to fill gallon sized bags with once fired brass with pistol caliber brass only.

Federal is selling the Blazer Brass to selected buying groups and or distributors. We sell it now instead of the regular blazer ammo.

With the clarification above, $25 a bag sounds like a good price.

I recently shot both types of Blazer from my XD-45 and found that the aluminum cases don't eject normally from my pistol.  Brass cases get thrown properly, but the Blazer Aluminum cases would land near my feet or even come back and hit me.  I never had a malfunction with it, but it's different for sure.  I also found both Blazer types to be very dirty compared to the other half-dozen brands I have fired.
