I get wolf .45.  A few months ago a local gander mountain  was selling it for 7.99 a box so I got 500.  It's gone up a buck since then.  I've shot about half of it.  Works good in my piece.

Same here.

The Blazer Brass is $9.98 a box, too.

Apparently ammo is less expensive in NC. Luckey devils.

Wideners has CCI Blazer for $8.19/50 and Blazer Brass for $8.99/50.  My source for cheap plinking ammo dried up a few months ago.  I was buying reloads for about $6.25 a box with no brass exchange.

Well apparently ammo at walmart is cheaper everywhere else in the U.S. except in south florida.  Cuz the walmarts that I've seen down here don't carry CCI.  And the WWB 100 rounds are about $22.00 sometimes higher...

cci brass 1000 rds 230 gr fmj to door--$204.  natchez shooter supply.  i shot 200 rds today--some of the bullets were seated a bit deeply.  some rounds seemed, well, weaker than others--instead of ejecting forcefully, some kinda flopped out.  occaisional "sparks."  overall, fine for plinking.  para ordnance p14 and springfield xd45.

Not meant to hijack.

Opositive, yours probably were caused by UPS shipping gorilla tossing the case around.  It behooves me that Natchezss does NOT even double box case ammo. This is when they charged you a $3.99 handling fee in addition to the shipping fee.

Mine (1000rd case of Blazer Brass 45acp) arrived from them beat to hell w/ 40% of the ammo seated too deeply to even shoot.  I could tell from the way the factory ammo box looked when I picked the ammo up.  Corners dented, various punctures here and there.

I had to get a partial refund from Natchezss and sent the rest back to CCI for replacement.  They, CCI, sent a half case 500rd, and they didn't even bothering double boxing it either.

So the point is: order less than a case so they will box them properly.  If you order by the 1000rd case which is what the CCI 45acp comes in, they slap a shipping label on the factory box and will ship them as is in factory case box.

khadre--i have ordered from natchez numerous times over the past 2 years.  they have always doubleboxed my ammo even at case quantity.  then again i order 9mm and for a while .303brit so maybe it is due to the physical size of the cases i order vs that of a case of .45acp.

Not meant to hijack the hijack , but "Behooves"?  You mean it works in your FAVOR that Natchez doesn't double box their ammo?  Hmmm

aaronrb204, a case of 1K of 45acp is only about 30% larger than the size of one 500rd case of XM193 from federal.

So I don't think it's the physical size.  What's they need to take into acct is the physical weight of the 1K 45acp ammo; hence doublebox-ing the 1K case of 45acp would make sense and be a much more higher priority.

Ya-ll need to start reloading, I suspect you are throwing away the most expemsive part of the round, the brass. Buy a Dillon press and dies etc. more bang for the buck

i do not disagree with you in any way.  i was just trying to say that it might have something to do with the fact that the .45acp case is large enough to act as the shipper while 9mm isn't.  as an aside, i have no frame of reference in terms of how big a case of .223 ammo is.

roger that aaron; I didn't take it as argument as I am just trying to illustrate the fact the case box quantity of 45acp is relatively flimsy to act as a shipping box for ammo that weights too much...compound that with the rough handling by the likes of UPS and FedEx and one will end up w/ DOA products...lol

case of 500rd of .223 ammo is approx. = 20"x 6" x 6", weighs about 15-20lb.  This is almost same size as 1k round case of 9mm ammo.

case of 1000rd of 45acp ammo is approx. = 23" x 8" x 8", weighs about 40 lbs.

All of these suppliers and a few more are the best price at any given time. You have to take the time to see what they are getting "today". Ammo just went up again across the board at most supply houses. I have tried a lot of the cheaper ammo brands depending on what price I could get it for. Some of them were pittyful. I have the best luck with S&B (Sellier & Belloit). Inexpensive, or at least no more expensive than the other 230 gr. ball ammo, and always consistent quality.
