I have been looking to add 10mm to my collection. I like the look and feel of the 1911 platform. I know there are several manufacturers who have a 10 mm offering but I am not educated on the cartridge. I see some discussions of chambers bein fully supported and able to handle the hottest 10 mm loads.
I don't have plans to use it for hunting or carrying as I have those bases well covered. Having said that I want to preserve the option of sing it for hunting because who knows. Not really concerned with capacity etc. options I have looked at include Colt Delta Elite S&W 1006 Dan Wesson Others??? |

I always wanted one of these, OP...
Edit: sorry, the link I copied it from doesn't work here. But its an EAA Witness Elite in 10mm... |

| I had a Kimber tle/rl in 10mm for a short while. Never could get it running right using factory or handloaded ammo along with factory and Wilson 47x mags. Sent it back and it still didn't run right when It came back. My dealer took it back and got me set up with a G20 gen 4. Couldn't be happier |

I ended up selling my Glock 20 because while it was accurate, the grip was just too huge to comfortably handle. Used the money plus a bit to buy a nice Delta Elite. Shoulda got a Gen 4 or the SF Yep. I have pretty small hands for a guy, and my Gen 4 does not feel like a dinosaur at all to me. |

Grips felt fine while shooting it. Mostly just shot at steel plates so I don't know how tight it was grouping but I was hitting the plates with ease |

I personally went with a Glock 20 G4 for backpacking and woods carry. My decision was based on durability, capacity, and the ability to handle hot loads. The biggest drawback is the grip circumference. It works for me, but it's definitely not a one size fits all grip.
I almost bought a 1006 based on their reputation for durability and recoil reducing heft. I did find one locally. I couldn't get over how much the price has gone up in the past 5 years. This coupled with the lack of factory support and low capacity steered me to the Glock. |

I handled the Gen 4 G20, the new SIG 220, the EAA Witness Hunter, the S&W 1076, and the Delta Elite. The Delta is the only one on which I can get a solid, correct grip, with the Smith a close, acceptable second. I bought both.
The SIG is just a little too big, the EAA a bit bigger, and the G20 too big to consider at all. If you have small hands, short fingers, etc., make sure you spend some time handling the candidates and imagining 10mm recoil levels. |
