I went ammo hunting yesterday. After paying too much for some AK ammo[even though it was top tier stuff] and went to another shop where the man had 45 ACP. I ended up paying .$.64 a round after tax for abox of fifty. That's almost exceeding Gunjoker prices. Hell, it does exceed. Anyway, it was an impulse buy, but if this is the new reality, I just won't shoot.

i dont think its the new "normal". people are still panic buying while others are buying and selling on EE and other places. prices for other types of ammo hasnt changed so much. i think at some point when manufacturing has caught up and peoples funds have dwindled prices will drop and availability will be back.

I'm happy to read the bold above because if that's what it takes (i.e. you NOT paying inflated prices) for prices to decline it will be best in the long run. Desperation purchases are keeping prices propped up for now. I'm seeing more inventory online and in stores staying stocked, and more items in forums stay posted longer, at stupid prices. In time the prices will drop as people refuse to pay the panic premium.

I REFUSE to pay those panic prices. I couldn't afford to even if I wanted. I reload anyway, plus I can cast bullets if need be. People need to quit with the panic buying so ammo will become available and affordable again.

That is what they want. If they can not take your guns then make it to costly to shoot.
(you do not think they bought 1.6 billion round to battle anyone do you?)
Then the next generation will shoot even less and so on and so on!!!
Till that one generation a gunshow will be on DVD!!!
I agree with  coalmen Buying right now is only
feeding the price fire. Will they go back down, we can only hope.
Good luck out there.  Try to keep shooting!!!
