Since I'm left handed I'm challenged sometimes with mag release, safeties and such.

My question is,my magazine will not insert for reloading quickly.
It is hitting the magazine catch and I have to depress the release
to load the Mag.

Anything I can do?or is this a gunsmith issue.Stock mag by the way.

The magazine catch just needs to wear in. You can probably use a file to put a radius on the bottom edge of the catch, or just do a bunch of mag changes until you wear it in.

As for being a southpaw, Smith&Alexander makes an ambidextrous mag release you may want to look at

I'm a lefty too, but don't like the ambi mag releases.  I just finished my first home built 1911 yesterday.  I too thought something was wrong with how much effort it took to install a mag.  I did a slight bit of filing to the bottom edge of the mag release (inside where the mag hits it).  Of course you'll have to take the mag release out of the gun to accomplish that.  Mags now feed much smoother.
