I own a S&W model 410 .40 S&W,
after shooting about 50 rounds I noticed that
where the base of the barrel makes contact
on the frame, its starting to gouge the frame,
has anyone had the same problem with the alloy
frame that S&W uses ? I took the gun to a local
gunsmith (Bill's gun range, Robbinsdale MN)
and he said that there is something wrong,
and to send it back to S&W, won't be able
to send it back because moving back to Texas
in a month. Is it just me or should I look for
a new brand of handgun ?

Just wait and send it to Smith after you move.  Smith has , at least in the past, been EXCELLENT with their warranty work.  I would just give 'em a call ask for customer service let them know the problem and they can advise you on how and where to ship it.

Definately wait until you move to send it back.  I wouldn't look for another brand of handgun.  I've brought 2 handguns back to the factory for repair (I live 30 minutes away) and they shipped them back to me within 2 weeks.

I just noticed a crack that developed on the slide of my 6906 just behind the extractor and they will be getting that one back soon.  I know it will be like new when they are done with it.
