The department I work for requires an 8lb trigger for off duty cary.  Does anyone know where I can get an 8 lb trigger for my M&P 40c ?

That's retarded! No offense to you of course. Don't you wish your department had more confidence in the training they gave you? Do they have silly requirements for On-Duty guns?

Also, I don't know where to get the spring, sorry. Maybe check the M&P forums.

Have you tested the trigger on a gauge?

If it's a new gun it might have an 8lb pull.

Have dept. armorer check it.

S&W makes a heavier pull for Mass. which requires a 10lb trigger I believe.

Yes, I agree with you!  I work for a "state Agency" and "we are held to a higher standard" which basically means we have to play it safe when compared to other local agency's policy's in regards to almost everything

Oh, and about on duty guns, for road guys, the only option is the department issued PX4 Storm.  Can you guess what department I work for?

How are you guys liking the PX4?

As for the trigger spring, see if you can get a Massachusetts compliant trigger bar and trigger spring from one of the parts warehouses or from S&W directly. I believe that would boost the trigger pull to above the 8 pound minimum requirement.

Good idea, thanks.  I like the PX4 better than the 96D it replaced for obvious reasons.  Larger round capacity, smaller in size, slightly lighter trigger spring.  I wish I could carry my SIG 229 DAK as my primary duty weapon though.
