My mom bought this little 38 airweight new in the late 80s.  On the barell it says AIRWEIGHT 38 SPL. CTG.  Serial number is BDB08xx.  x's for privacy.
Anyone know what it is worth? Probably less than 100 rounds through it since purchase.  I plan on making it my new concealed carry piece.

Appears to be a model 38 in pretty good shape. If you open the cylinder of the revolver the exact model will be stamped into the frame of the revolver....something like "38-2". That will help with value estimation somewhat.

Value varies, but eyeballing it I'd say anywhere from 350 to 450 is the value. Somebody with a blue book might be able to give you a more accurate estimate, but that's the range I see them going for.

This is the "Bodyguard" model. It has a bobbed hammer to allow single action shots if one wishes to.

The 38-1 versions were introduced in 1988 & ran until the 38-2's came along in 1990. The -1 change was "new yoke retention system/radius stud package".......... (Don't ask me what the heck that means.)

There are some extremely rare 3" bbl versions out there as well.

Hope this helps!

Thank you.  I love it.  It is light as a feather.  Lighter, to me, than any of the new airweights I have held.
