I've put a few thousand rounds through my M&P 9 and so far the trigger itself has outlived the first striker in the weapon.

I dont believe that there has ever been a durability issue involving the M&P or the Sigma hinged trigger. The ONLY reason anyone should be concerned about its durability, is if there is a legitimate, documented case of a M&P trigger breaking at the hinge. Since there is not, I believe you are wasting your time worrying about it, and I am wasting my time typing about it!

I have to admit to not liking the feel of the trigger on the M&P.

That being said, I cannot recall ever hearing of one failing. Feel aside, I doubt there's anything wrong with it. (and "feel" is subjective.)

My M&P 9 and M&P 40 both feel fine in the durability dept.

My M&P 9mm has a few thousand rounds through it and hasn't had an issue with the trigger yet. Mind you the gun is not that old.

I don't really think the trigger will cause an issue although smiths warranty should cover any issues that do come up.
