I know your out there, even though you may choose not to make it known...

I bought an olive green model a couple of months ago before I knew someone would call me a "Smegma" owner...

Haven't shot it yet...Besides fierce trigger tension...what can I expect?

What ammo does it loves?

I got mine for nightstand/ccw...(Stop laughing)

I am gonna try to find a olive flashlight for it...know of any?

Friend of mine bought one as his first weapon. Got it new for under $300. He carried it for about 6 months. Put about 1000 rounds through it from Winchester to Independence, never had any problems. He just got rid of it and purchase an XD. It was a good gateway pistol for him. Got him more into guns and the basic principals of shooting.

learn to be accurate with that trigger and you will be a much better shooter for it

I have the green in 40S&W. Has eaten all ammo I have put in it. I gave it to my Dad and he enjoys shooting it.

Mine is 10 years old, has about 8000 rds through it.  I shot the first 2000 rds through it before I cleaned it.  It worked every time.  At 6500 rds the striker broke and Smith fixed it for free.  They gave me an completely new top end and paid shipping to and from the factory.  The trigger pull is heavy, but it's better than the DA pull on a Model 10 revolver.

Never owned one but shot plenty of them. The trigger is a little on the heavy side but it works and goes bang every time you pull that trigger. You can even polish up the internals and make it a little smoother.

Good pistol for what it is. Cheap, well made, and will work when you need it.

On the plus side if you can control that trigger you can then hit everything with any other firearm without a problem.

I picked up the SW40VE Last year in a promo that had them for about
$325.00 from Bass pro. I've ran about 1500 rounds through it from reloads
to Corbon JHP and never a issue. The trigger is tough but if you spend
the first couple weeks shooting, sliding the rail and dry firing it off range
it does break in a bit. The trigger travel is a bit long which makes it feel
heavier then it actually is. Magazines for the SW40VE can be elusive at
a good price, you have to search around. Overall a decent gun.
