A friend of mine called and said he had the chance to handle the M&P 40 and really liked it. I really didn't know what to tell him, however, when he asked what a good price on one would be.

I assumed "around $500" was ballpark, but I'd like to make sure I'm telling him right.

Does that sound close to correct or are you all seeing different?

Thanks.

That sounds about right if he's purchasing it from a local gun shop. For instance my M&P9 cost me $524 out the door with tax and a one year membership to the range. Bud's Gun Shop (online) usually has them for $430 but be sure to add in shipping and FFL transfer fee.

I gave $460.00 for mine at a friends shop. I saw his invoice from where he paid $435.00 from his distributor. I'd say anywhere between $450.00 and $500.00 is reasonable.

Didn't I read somewhere that sometime after the beginning of the year they were gonna offer one with a manual safety?
